HPE is hiring a Mechanical Technician, in it’s Chippewa Falls manufacturing facility. The Mechanical Technician reads/interprets mechanical drawings, schematics, printouts, specifications and test procedures. Additional responsibilities include performing tests to determine the functionality of mechanical or computer equipment. The Mechanical Technician may participate in basic design and analysis via computer-aided design, and ensures instruments are calibrated and verified on a regular basis. The Mechanical Technician participates with engineers in the testing, debugging and troubleshooting of new and existing equipment and products, and creates new test programs/procedures as needed for new technologies.


  • Applies developed knowledge of the job skills, company policies and procedures to complete a wide variety of difficult assignments/tasks.

  • Thorough understanding of the general/technical aspects of the job.

  • Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature and require ordinary problem resolution and independent judgment.

  • Works under limited supervision and normally receives no instructions on routine work and general instructions given for new assignments.

  • Travel (both domestic and international) are frequently required; up to 30% travel threshhold

Education and Experience Required:

  • Typically an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience and 4-6 years of experience.

  • May include highly experienced individuals performing equivalent work who are non-degreed or degreed in an unrelated field.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge in the field of electro mechanical technology.
