Business Immigration – Associate Attorneys – Remote or Hybrid


Erickson Immigration Group
has several career opportunities for experienced Business Immigration – Associate Attorneys to join our expanding team in our Headquarters office, located in Arlington, VA.

Primary Responsibilities for the Role:

  • Manage high-volume caseloads including but not limited to business immigrant visa (IV) related petitions and applications with supporting documentation- PERM applications, I-90, N-400, I-485, N-565, I-765, and I-131. Draft, review and/or revise petitions/applications for PERM Labor Certification audit responses and RFEs for filing with USCIS. OR
  • Manage high-volume caseloads including but not limited to business non-immigrant (NIV) related petitions and applications with supporting documentation including but not limited to H1B, TN, E-3, and H-1B1.
  • Effectively manage client relationships and a team of paralegals for high-volume clients.
  • Explain sophisticated immigration concepts and present strategic solutions for clients.
  • Supervise paralegals in preparing petitions/applications.
  • Effectively manage complex projects under tight deadlines.
  • Utilize web-based immigration case management systems and database continuously and accurately.
  • Contribute to the development of firm’s processes to simplify work, standardize procedures, and help the team operate more efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct in depth legal research to support client requests and projects.
  • Draft and prepare letters and legal documents, typically based on established precedents.
  • Develop expert level understanding of assigned client base and industries.
  • Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues, share information and projects.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding procedural, case processing issues and case strategy.
  • Develop an understanding of the firm’s practice areas and services provided.
  • Assess and evaluate client’s immigrant visa eligibility.
  • Work with Client Global Mobility personnel and Human Resources to prepare petitions and applications for submission to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Department of Labor (DOL) for immigrant status, for foreign national employees.
  • Support clients in immigration program management and compliance.
  • Supervise the work of paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation.


Qualification Requirements:

  • U.S. Juris Doctor degree (J.D.).
  • Member of State Bar.
  • 1 – 4 years of business immigration attorney experience; willing to consider a combination of attorney and paralegal experience (within business immigration law working on IV case matters and writing detailed support letters).
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills, as appropriate for the needs of the audience (clients, governmental agencies, internal and external resources).
  • Logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational & time management skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to generate work product with considerable accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Works independently toward team goals.
  • Outstanding case/project management skills
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) including actively listening.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Strong team focus that assists to foster a sense of community within the firm.

  • Fluency of the English language in both written and verbal forms.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; VisaTrax/INS Zoom and Document Management System.
